3 Looks to Take Your Basic T-shirt from Day to Night

Look One:
Whether you love the new wave of nautical stripes, the edgy vibe of a concert print, or the minimalist nature of a solid color, everyone embraces the all classic t-shirt. We pair them with jeans and skirts, take them out on the town with high heels or wear them to the gym, but sometimes we all just need a new idea for that favorite friend. A new idea can breathe life into an otherwise-overlooked item and help us see our closets in a new light. Start with the casual shorts...a t-shirt (this one is the Beach House Tank) looks great with shorter or longer versions; make the studded dolphin-hem cutoffs pictured above with our tutorial here. Top your tee with a kimono-styled top or poncho (pictured above is the Ikat-Hooded Poncho from Free People).

Look Two:
Another day-look is the tee tied in a knot at the natural waist, either in the front or back, and thrown over a long (or short) sundress and layer on the jewelry (Dress pictured is Criss-Cross Florals maxi-dress).

Look Three:
For a look that's ready for dimly-lit booths on date night or a dinner with girlfriends, pair your tee with a below-the-knee stretchy skirt. The longer length of this skirt compliments your m bare arms. Don't forget your chunky or jeweled necklaces and bangles. This look has a little sophistication without the pretense and fuss.
