Give Your Old Boots a Facelift by Adding Tassels

Now that fall has officially arrived, it’s time to break out those boots again! If you are like me, you may have an old pair of boots lying around that need a bit of an upgrade! Today I am excited to share with you a SUPER easy and quick DIY that can take simple boots to the next level by adding tassels!

Materials:

  • 1 pair of boots
  • 1⁄4 yard leather (or pleather)
  • ruler
  • pen
  • hot glue gun
  • tape
  • scissors
  • pinking shears (optional)

Step 1: Create 8 tassels, 4 for each boot. For instructions on how to make a tassel, visit this tutorial, here.

Step 2: Using a piece of folded over tape, temporarily place the tassels on your boot, try it on, and make sure you are happy with the tassel placement. Once you are happy with their placement, use hot glue to place each tassel, one underneath the other. Be sure not to use too much hot glue so it doesn’t show when it's all said and done.

Step 3: Repeat this step for your other boot...and you are finished! Such a quick easy way to spice up fall boots! Happy tasseling!
