When I found this gorgeous piece of rose quartz at a flea market I knew I wanted to transform it into a piece of jewelry. This easy DIY takes 10 minutes and results in a fun quartz necklace perfect for layering.
- A piece of quartz (can be ordered online, here)
- Gold beading wire
Cut a piece of wire and wrap it several times around the quartz piece. Using pliers begin twisting the two ends of the wire tightening the wire tightly around the quartz. Cut excess wire and fold down flat against the back side of the quartz.
Cut a long piece of twine to make the necklace. Slip the two ends of the twine under a piece of the wire on the back of the quartz creating a knot around the wire. Finally, knot the other end of the twine to close the loop. That's it!
And that's it. Isn't that simple? You can wear it all on it's own, but I choose to layer it with 2 other necklaces.
The baby bump makes another Camp Makery appearance ;) Today as we post this I am going to the doctor to find out if it's a boy or a girl!!!!
When layering necklaces, pick necklaces that all have gold or silver or both, use an odd number (3 is a great number to start experimenting this look with), use ones of varying heights, and place them over a shirt that is a little more simple so that it's not to busy when paired with the necklaces.
